These Terms govern your use of Relic & Ruin (the "Service"), a browser-based warband builder and campaign manager for the tabletop game Mordheim. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Operator: Scott Livingstone, contact: info@relicandruin.net.

1. The Service

Relic & Ruin is a free, hobbyist tool for tracking warbands, campaigns, and battles. It is provided as-is, with no guarantee of availability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

The Service is an unofficial fan project. It is not produced, endorsed, or affiliated with Games Workshop Ltd. "Mordheim", "Warhammer", and related names and imagery are trademarks of Games Workshop Ltd. and are used here solely for identification of the game system the Service supports.

2. Your account

To use the Service you must:

  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Provide a valid email address and verify it
  • Keep your password confidential and not share your account
  • Notify us promptly at info@relicandruin.net if you suspect unauthorised access to your account

You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, the server, or any underlying infrastructure
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or circumvent any security or rate-limiting mechanism
  • Use automated means (scrapers, bots) to access the Service in a way that imposes an unreasonable load
  • Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes the rights of others
  • Use the Service to store or transmit malware
  • Reverse-engineer or redistribute the Service except as permitted by applicable law or by an open-source licence we have published

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of any content you create in the Service (warband names, custom notes, campaign records, etc.). By storing that content on the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, and display it for the sole purpose of operating the Service for you.

You are responsible for ensuring your content does not infringe anyone else's rights.

5. Game-rules content

The Service references rules, equipment lists, and other game data drawn from the public Mordheim ruleset. Those rules remain the intellectual property of their respective rights holders. The Service makes them available for personal, non-commercial use as a play aid.

6. Availability and changes

The Service is offered on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee any particular uptime and may take it offline for maintenance, upgrades, or for any other reason without notice. We may also discontinue the Service entirely; in that case we will, where reasonably practicable, give you advance notice and an opportunity to export your data.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion removes your account and associated data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you would expose us to legal or security risk.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any data you store will not be lost or corrupted. Keep your own backups of anything important.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for gross negligence, intent, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

The Service is provided free of charge; if a court nonetheless determines that the operator is liable, total aggregate liability is limited to EUR 50.

10. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered users. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes shall be brought exclusively before the competent courts of Heidelberg, Germany, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
